Program Manager—
Therapy / Clinical Services

 

Our client, a community therapy services company in the Durham region since 1997, is currently seeking a Program Manager to manage its adult physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, and social work programs.

 

Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the Company's operations with special emphasis on the management of the various therapy disciplines and programs to ensure the quality and effective delivery of services to clients as well as compliance with contract performance standards.

 

You are a hands-on, energetic and creative health care professional with five to ten years experience in a community rehabilitation service plus three to five years in a management role. You possess flawless communication skills (both written and verbal), sound decision making skills and judgment, and demonstrated time management and organizational skills. 

 

You must have a continuous improvement mentality and have the ability to successfully develop and execute plans.  Current knowledge of community health care industry issues and practices, accreditation, and home therapy service delivery is required. 

 

Education sufficient to meet registration standards for a recognized Therapy College is required.  A Master's Degree in Health Science, Health Administration, or equivalent is preferred.

 

Key functional responsibilities include:

 

Resource Management

· Monitor service provider resources against caseloads and projected demand.

· Solicit, interview, and select additional professionals as necessary to meet demand.

· Provide orientation to new service providers and mentor new service providers during initial tenure.

· Monitor and review service provider compliance, prepare for and CSP contract reviews and annual administrative compliance assessments.

· Prepare for and lead regular discipline specific meetings for service providers, including resources, presenters, in-services, and communications.

· Organize education and training sessions, monitor and encourage service provider skills maintenance and development.

Program Quality

· Conduct professional / compliance reviews or audits of documentation and records.

· Review data and indicators related to quality, risk and utilization.

· Assess overall program effectiveness and initiate improvement activities as necessary.

· Monitor best practices in the discipline and incorporate into program delivery as appropriate.

Program Management

· Provide advice and guidance to Therapists and Mentors

· Respond to Client inquiries and resolve complaints

· Analyse Incident Reports, and provide general problem-solving for Program processes and activities.

· Liaise and attend meetings with Case Managers, the CCAC and Community Partners.

· Manage the mentor program for the discipline ensuring accessibility and effectiveness of mentors for all service providers.

· Review and recommend service provider remuneration rates.

· Review and recommend equipment and supplies necessary to deliver services, and propose budget allocation for same.

Attend management meetings to review overall programs and changes in company policies.
